Come and see some of my paintings and drawings of critters and bonsai trees!
My outlook on life and influences on my art come from travels and experiences. We all draw on what we know, or believe we know. I believe my travels and experiences, which include various places in the US, Europe, Western Africa, Asia, have shaped who I am. I did my undergraduate work in Montana with exchanges and overseas studies in France and Africa. I attended graduate school at the University of Hawaii, and then moved to Japan in 1990 where I have spent ten years full time, and many more traveling back and forth. I now reside in Seattle.
I started college as a Fine Arts major, although I eventually finished with degrees in both linguistics and political science. Art has always been a part of my life.
In 2007 I started a fine art reproduction and giclée printing business called Bellevue Fine Art Reproduction in Seattle (Bellevue). My day job is now reproducing artwork for other artists and fine art photographers, which is not only an interesting job, but has an enormous impact on my own work, serving as a daily inspiration.

"I was born and raised in Newport News, VA and moved to Seattle in 2004. Art and drawing have always been an interest of mine from an early age. Having dabbled with painting over the years, I have grown a passion for oil painting. I use my own photography for my reference. I also like to paint a still life occasionally, though mostly for study. I like to paint figurative art that is simple, yet complicated, and like life-a bit surreal."

I am an illustrator, artist, and craftsperson. I love combining artwork with mechanical things, making new fashions out of ancient visions, swirling past and future together into meaningful eye candy. I am also an avid fan of many other artists, and enjoy the spirituality of making, sharing, and living out my art. Inspirations include: Faerie tales, science fiction, Victoriana, animals, alchemy, weird but cute creatures, and subversive sociological themes (like ladies being free!). I have an annual showing at Gargoyles on The Ave in Seattle (in autumn, of course), and have contributed to many shows, galleries, and art events with my peers.

Braden Duncan (a.k.a. Clockwork Art). Artist & curator. Watercolour & oil. Steampunk & circuitry. She is inspired by the intricate elegance created by the convergence of biological and mechanical elements, and fascinated by the effects of transformative technologies on contemporary society. She aims to take over the world with the strange and the adorable.
Her current bodies of work focus on kittens, birds, bunnies & bugs augmented with mechanical & pop culture accoutrement.
Braden is the co-founder of the Seattle Arts Coalition, writer of Art Scene Seattle, curator of Steamposium's Artist Alley, and a member of the international Strange Dreams Surreal Artist Collective. She lives and works in Seattle and regularly assists with curating & art installation for a number of galleries around the Northwest. She can usually be found covered in oil paint, watercolour, engine grease, and cat hair.
Braden's little black kitten, Diesel, is her constant companion & artistic muse. Ghost & Earl Grey are her newest studio assistants and aspire soon to follow in Diesel's paw prints.

Even monsters get to be the Heroes of their own stories. Goddesses and Monsters have trampled all over my two-decade-plus art journey, showing up to frequent my inner landscape until I create a painting to tell their tale. A few favorite characters are featured here: Raven Goddesses, Tree Spirits, Daemons & other assorted Mythic Beings.
The word “daemon” is a curious thing—common vernacular translates the word that invokes an evil monster: “demon”. But go back far enough to the original Greek (Daimon) and Latin (Daemon) root itself, “Daemon” means indwelling spirit or deity. In modern times, a daemon is a computer program that runs in the background. My daemons provide never-ending inspiration, and, occasionally, exasperation.
Bio:
Laura Cameron is a Seattle-based artist, receiving her BFA in Painting from Washington State University. Currently, her studio resides in a large building full of other artists and dreamers along the north shore of Lake Union. Laura also teaches private lessons as well as "paint and sip" events at various public and private venues around the south Puget Sound area. Laura has also created private commissions ranging from Tarot decks, movie props, portraits of people and animals, as well as book illustrations. She lives with her wife Rowan and cat Tyger in North Seattle.
